Kanazawa Castle

When I finished at the Kenrokuen Garden I walked across the street to Kanazawa Castle. The castle unfortunately is only partially complete because it has burned down several times over the centuries and only in the 1990s did the city start to reconstruct it. When I visited Kanazawa Castle in 2017 the main gate, two or three turrets, and a few other hallways and buildings were standing but maybe by the time you’re reading this there will have been more work finished. Even though Kanazawa Castle is incomplete, it’s still a nice place to visit and you can walk around the castle grounds for free. There is a small admission fee to enter the castle turrets and inside you can find some exhibits on the carpentry and masonry that was used to construct the castle. You can also climb the insides of the turrets to get some decent views of the castle grounds.
