Kanazawa 2017: Nagamachi Samurai District (長町)

On the day I left Kanazawa I did one last bit of sightseeing in the morning when I rode my bicycle down to the Nagamachi Samurai District. This part of Kanazawa used to be where samurai families lived and has a number of preserved and restored homes and other buildings from the Edo Period. A few houses in Nagamachi have gardens that the public can freely enter and some others have been turned into museums. I spent about an hour exploring Nagamachi that morning before returning to my guesthouse to grab my backpack and head to the train station.
