Kyoto Philosopher's Path

When I finished at Ginkakuji Temple I decided I’d wrap up the afternoon by walking the Philosopher’s Path, which is a route that used to be walked daily by a local philosopher who taught at Kyoto University. The path starts near Ginkakuji and extends for about two kilometers down to the neighborhood around Nanzenji Temple. Along the way I pulled off the path to visit Honen-in Temple. It was nice to find a temple in Kyoto that wasn’t overrun with tourists and I spent a few minutes enjoying the relative quiet of Henon-in before returning to the Philosopher’s Path and continuing southwards to the path’s end.
