A few blocks south of the Omicho Market I saw a small shrine at the end of a road and I decided to take a look. Its name is Ozaki Shrine and it is dedicated to the spirit of Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate that controlled Japan for about 250 years. Whenever I’m walking around a town in Japan I like to detour into smaller neighborhood shrines like this one, even if only for a quick visit.
