Matsumoto 2019: Nakamachi District (中町通り)

After visiting Yohashira Shrine I crossed to the south side of the Metoba River and took a walk through the Nakamachi District. This part of Matsumoto used to be where the city’s merchants would live and is known for its distinctive white buildings. Although it was cold that day I had a very pleasant experience walking through Nakamachi and I wish I had more time to explore this and other nearby parts of Matsumoto.
