Earlier this week I was having lunch with a friend of mine and the topic of my upcoming trip inevitably came up. While discussing my plans he asked me if I had considered paying Taiwan a visit since it’s not that far from Okinawa. I told him that I hadn’t planned on visiting any other countries besides Japan and Korea and the conversation moved on from there, but later that night the gears of mind began turning. Taiwan could be interesting, though to be honest I don’t know much about the country. With my schedule limitations I’d likely only be able to squeeze in a visit of about three days, which would probably mean only visiting the capital city of Taipei. Adding Taiwan to the trip would also mean sacrificing another part of the trip. The most likely victim would be Kagoshima and other parts of Kyushu.
I’m going to take a week or so to think this over and look at potential flights to and from Taipei. At the moment I’d say it’s pretty unlikely that I’ll add Taiwan to the trip but maybe after some research it will have piqued my interest enough to justify allocating it a few days.
Great post 🙂
