September-November 2019 Ricardopedia

It’s the first day of the month and that means I’ve again updated the header image at the top of this website. This time it’s a little different, however, because this header image is going to stay up for a while. As most of you know, I’m leaving later this month to go on an extended trip across Japan and South Korea. I’m not bring my laptop with me on this journey since I don’t want to be distracted by work, and consequently I won’t be updating this website’s header images while I’m gone. Currently I’m planning for this new header image to stay active from now through at least the end of November.

For this latest header image I’ve chosen a nighttime view of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. I took this photo during my family’s short trip to Italy last year and it comes from the night in Florence when my father and I went out to get some gelato on the south side of the Arno River. We were crossing the nearby Ponte Santa Trinita and halfway across we both stopped to grab a photo of the Ponte Vecchio. At night the covered bridge of the Ponte Vecchio is lit up pretty well and though I had forgotten to bring my GorillaPod with me the Ponte Santa Trinita’s stonework provided a stable enough surface to get a good photo.
