Cape Kanedano and Cape Sukoton are separated by Funadomari Bay on Rebun’s north shore. After leaving Cape Kanedano I bicycled along the coastal road, passing through the village of Funadomari. Orange crates were stacked high at the harbor, awaiting the next fishing expedition.

Right next to the village is Kushu Lake and I briefly stopped there before continuing on towards Cape Sukoton. There’s a campground along the lake though it was mostly empty when I passed through.

The road around Funadomari Bay stays close to the coastline and passes through a couple other small villages that line Rebun’s north shore. As I got closer to Cape Sukoton the terrain on my left side turned into cliffs that pushed up against the pavement. Cape Sukoton was close, but I’d have to do a bit of climbing to reach it.
