A steep road leads down to Cape Sukai and the fishing village next to it. Although it was fun to be going fast down towards the cape I knew that later it would be nightmarish for me to have to go back up that same road.
Cape Sukai is a really scenic spot along Rebun Island’s west coast. Getting up to the observation area requires climbing some stairs but reaching the top isn’t difficult. The jagged, windswept cliffs remind me of the coastline in places like Scotland. I was fortunate enough to have clear skies and good sunlight that day, making for some great photos. Like Cape Sukoton, it takes a while to reach Cape Sukai, especially on a bicycle, but it’s worth the time and effort to get out there.
