At night I returned to Kokusaidori Street to walk around and burn off some of the calories from the dinner I had just eaten. Kokusaidori’s name translates to “International Road” and this 2km street is one of Naha’s major shopping, eating, and entertainment areas. Before World War 2 this part of the city was largely undeveloped but after the war it was steadily built up and the construction here helped revitalize Naha. Businesses here stay open late and there were a lot of other people walking around Kokusaidori with me that night.
