Way up at the northern tip of Okinawa is Cape Hedo, aka Hedo Misaki. It is here that steep cliffs meet the beautiful ocean and I’m guessing that at least part of this area was formed long ago when a lava flow reached the sea. There are a few monuments scattered around Cape Hedo but the main attraction is the landscape itself (and the scenic coastal roads you have to take to reach it). Because its location Cape Hedo doesn’t get as many visitors as some other parts of Okinawa but I personally thought it was worth the time needed to get out there.
