Japan Fukuoka Arrival Hakata

The next stage of my journey across Japan and Korea took me to the city of Fukuoka on the Japanese mainland. Fukuoka is the most populous city on the island of Kyushu, being home to a bit over 2.5 million people, and I’d be staying there for 2 nights. My hostel was in the central part of the city and about a 15-minute walk from Hakata Station (pictured above at the end of the street). I had previously visited Fukuoka in 2017 so felt like I was back on familiar terrain after having spent 5 days exploring new places down in Okinawa.
