Before ending my first night in Osaka I got myself an ice cream treat from a shop called Ice Dog. Instead of ice cream in a cone or a cup, at Ice Dog they serve ice cream in a fried bread bun. The combination of cold ice cream and hot fried bread works surprisingly well and I’d come back to Ice Dog on the following night. Across Japan you find similar novelties with ice cream inside bread but this particular treat from Ice Dog is my favorite so far.

Not sure if I had one of those while I was over there, but whenever I’m next able to travel to Japan again I’ll definitely make sure to keep an eye out for them. Ice cream sandwiches in croissant-donuts sounds amazing.

A whole new meaning to the term “Ice cream sandwich”, right? lol. This has nothing on those strawberry and cream sandwiches they sell at convenience stores haha.
