Up in the northwest corner of Kyoto I passed though the Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street on my way to visit another of the city’s temples. This street has many buildings from Japan’s Meiji Period (1868-1912) and some of them have been converted into businesses while others remain private residences. It doesn’t take long to walk the length of the Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street but it’s a nice area to pass through if you happen to be in this part of Kyoto.
