A collection of deleted scenes for The Last Jedi were recently released and much like the movie they’re a mix of good and bad. Some of the deleted scenes clearly didn’t work with the rest of the movie, but others have left me scratching my head and wondering why they were left out. A good example of a deleted scene that should have been in the final cut is the clip I’ve embedded below. It comes from the final third of the movie when Finn faces off with Phasma on Snoke’s flagship. While this scene still doesn’t right the wrong of Phasma being a completely wasted character, and has some issues that hold it back from being a great scene, it is undeniably an improvement over what we got in the theatrical release of the movie. Keep in mind this scene was unfinished, meaning a lot of the special effects are missing or incomplete.
