Platinum Trophy #14: Modern Warfare Remastered

I seem to be on something of a trophy hunting kick lately and two days ago I acquired my 14th Platinum Trophy on PlayStation for the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. A week ago I published my review of the game, scoring it at an 8.5 out of 10. Over the following days I found myself picking up almost all of the trophies and eventually I got to the point where I only needed to do two more things: beat the mission One Shot, One Kill on veteran difficulty and beat the IW best time of 15.1 seconds on the cargo ship training course. For those that don’t know, the mission One Shot, One Kill has a really tough final section where you have to survive for about two minutes and then reach an evacuation helicopter while carrying a wounded NPC. Getting less than 15.1 seconds on the cargo ship requires you to be near flawless when running the course and utilize a few tricks to shave seconds off your time. For One Shot, One Kill I hunkered down in the booth just to the left of my injured friend and after three attempts I was able reach the helicopter without being murdered. Beating the 15.1 second record on the cargo ship took far longer. I think I spent at least an hour banging my head against it, failing over and over again but slowly getting better. For a while I couldn’t do any better than 16.55 seconds but then I made a small breakthrough and got down to 15.3 seconds. Another ten minutes would pass until I finally nailed it—finishing at 14.95 seconds and watching the Best of the Best trophy pop on my screen. A few seconds later the Platinum Trophy popped and I just about fell to my knees screaming in triumph. This had been a tough Platinum Trophy to earn but it was now mine.
