About 8 miles (12.87 km) north of the ferry port I came across a small shrine along the road and decided to stop and check it out. According to Google Maps the name of this place is Ichiku Shrine. Past a red torii gate and up a flight up stairs is a small shrine building that looks down on the sea below. I took a quick look inside but no one was at the shrine that morning. Though these smaller shines that you can find scattered across rural Japan aren’t as grand as the bigger ones in the cities I still like to pay them a visit whenever I come across them.
Great post 😁
