Japan Korea Map

One year ago today I got on a flight bound for Tokyo and began the journey that I’ve been writing about for the past several months. This was my second expedition to Japan and Korea (the anniversary for the first trip is actually just two days from today and I’ll have a separate post about that trip) and overall it turned out very well. Above is a blank map of Japan and Korea with red dots on all the places I visited. Even with a full 2.5 months I wasn’t able to visit every last locale that I was interested in, but I did get to see a lot of both countries.

Believe it or not, back at the start of 2019 I was debating whether or not to do this trip in 2019 or 2020, and given how the year 2020 has turned out I think it’s safe to say that I made a good choice in selecting 2019. I do hope to one day return to Japan and/or Korea for a third journey, though I’m guessing it will be the second half of 2021 at the absolute earliest.
