For my sightseeing around Naha I would be making extensive use of the Okinawa Urban Monorail, which is also known as the Yui Rail. The monorail line starts at the airport and snakes through the city, passing near several of the attractions that I was planning on visiting that day. I bought a 1-day pass for the monorail and as a bonus my pass would get me a discounted entry ticket to Shuri Castle, which would be my first destination of the day (and the subject of tomorrow’s post). There are certainly other public transit options in Naha besides the monorail but depending on where you’re going in the city it can potentially be a convenient way to get around town.
