Takamatsu 2019: Leaving Takamatsu and Shikoku

My 5-day detour down to Shikoku had unfortunately come to an end and it was time for me to return to Honshu to resume the slow trek east towards Tokyo. In the morning I gathered up my stuff and went to Takamatsu Station where I boarded a train that would take me to the next leg of my journey. Shikoku and Honshu are connected by a series of bridges that link across small islands in the inland sea and not long after departing Takamatsu I caught a view of the bridges from my window. As the train moved across the inland sea and then crossed onto Honshu I once again got that sinking feeling that you get when you know that a long journey is closing in on the end.
