Figuring out hashtags

I’ve been on social media since 2005, but even with 12 years of experience I still consider myself a novice at it. My social skills in real life aren’t that great, so I guess it naturally follows that I don’t fully comprehend how to effectively use social media. This year I’m looking to change that. The big thing I’m doing now is that I’m trying to get better at applying proper hashtags to my Instagram photos. Up until recently I almost never used hashtags on any social media platform but now I’m experimenting on Instagram and seeing if it results in more people seeing my photos. Being as clueless as I am, I’ve had to go online to see what hashtags people suggest using as well as message a few friends that seem to know what they’re doing. If I remember to do so I’ll give an update later this year on how my efforts are coming along.
