After arriving in Florence my parents and I made our way through the city to the apartment we would be staying in. The apartment was right in the heart of Florence, just a block away from the cathedral, and from there we could easily reach just about any of the city’s attractions. Of all the places we stayed in Italy, the apartment in Florence was my personal favorite and I think it was my parents’ favorite too. It had good beds, a nice bathroom, a full kitchen, a washing machine, a spacious living room/dining room area, and was very clean and well maintained. On top of all that the big window by the dining table had a view of the cathedral’s dome. Each morning and evening as we sat down to eat my parents could look out that window at one of the city’s most famous sights. The only disadvantage to our apartment was that it was on the top floor of a building with no elevators. My parents are still strong enough that this wasn’t a major issue but for anyone who has difficulty climbing up stairs this apartment wouldn’t be the best choice. I’m likely not going to be back in Florence for at least several years but if I do ever go back I’ll definitely see about renting this apartment again if it’s available.

That looks like a fantastic view from your apartment.

It most certainly was. My parents joked that the only thing that could have made the view better was if we demolished that one building partially blocking the dome.
